United Nations - Chess For Dialogue
On June 18th, 2015 I was honored to take part in the inaugural "Chess for Dialogue" event at the United Nations in New York City.
My dear friend and world-renowned chess champion Susan Polgar (www.susanpolgar.com) invited me and I also had the opportunity to take three chess students with me! This prestigious event was co-sponsored by the Ukrainian and Hungarian Permanent Missions to the UN. The purpose of the event was to use chess as a platform for soft diplomacy and to advocate peace around the world. Twenty UN representatives from around the globe played friendly chess matches with twenty young chess players.
It was truly an amazing experience.
